CEF’s Christmas Party Club and the True Meaning of Christmas

Dec 16, 2024 | Teach Kids Articles

Do you have any special Christmas traditions? Although people around the world celebrate Christmas, they have different traditions, and many don’t even know about the Christ of Christmas. It’s easy to get caught up in the traditions, gifts, and commercial fun of Christmas that we forget about the true reason for the season: the birth of Jesus Christ. As the true meaning of Christmas, it’s important for us to tell children about Christ’s coming, how He was born, and why He came to earth to save us.

Jesus is the True Meaning of Christmas

Without a doubt, the birth of Jesus changed the world. When you tell children the true meaning of Christmas, their lives can be changed forever. For Jesus was not an ordinary man. He is God the Son who came to earth and was born as a baby under some pretty spectacular circumstances. He came to be the Savior of our world, and it’s His birth that showed God’s love and desire for people to know Him and live with Him forever. That’s why Jesus, when He was a man, willingly suffered and died on a cross to take the punishment for our sin. He made the way for us to have a new life with God. But He didn’t stay dead, either—He came alive again and now rules in heaven as King, promising us eternal life with Him if we only accept His free gift of salvation.

Share That True Meaning of Christmas with CEF Party Clubs®

As the true meaning of Christmas, the holidays are a great time to tell children about Jesus and to share the gospel. You can be a part of the world-wide movement that’s doing this through Child Evangelism Fellowship’s Christmas Party Clubs®. Through the party clubs, CEF offers training and Christmas Party Club® curriculum that includes songs, games, memory verse teachings, and a Bible lesson to provide a fun and meaningful celebration for kids to learn about the true meaning of Christmas: Jesus Christ!

Teaching the True Meaning of Christmas Has Impact

No matter where you are in the globe or what the accessibility of the gospel is, CEF is there to help—meeting churches where they’re at with the training, resources, and support needed to impact communities with the true meaning of Christmas. After all, Jesus is a gift that deserves to be shared. In fact, some of the people who receive this training live in places hostile to the Gospel.

With CEF’s help, these people’s love for Christ is evident as they put their lives at risk to share about Jesus with Christmas Party Clubs—their stories a testimonial of Christ’s power, as even children who believe in Jesus may face persecution from their own families, like it was for an eight-year-old girl from a slum area who accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior at a Christmas Party Club®. Soon after hearing about the true meaning of Christmas, she started to attend a nearby church, although her parents were against it. They would scold her and even beat her sometimes for her faith, but she would still run to church in tears because of her passion to learn about Christ.

In yet another story of the impact teaching the true meaning of Christmas can have, when villagers would not allow a Christmas Party Club® to be held in their village, CEF-equipped missionaries still held gatherings for the children outside the village bounds. One week later, a villager approached one of the missionaries and asked them to hold the same Christmas Party Club inside the village. Originally known as someone against the club, the missionary asked what had happened for the man to change his mind, and he shared that he noticed a great change in the children who had learned of the true meaning of Christmas through their work. When the man asked the children what changed them, the children answered, “Jesus is living in us! He changed our lives!”

Through CEF’s Christmas Party Clubs®, millions of boys and girls—even in some of the most difficult regions of the world—have heard the true meaning of Christmas. Last year, over 6 million children attended a Christmas Party Club® and learned of the love of Jesus Christ.

Christmas is a great time to celebrate the birth of Jesus AND tell children the true meaning of Christmas. Why not do both? Where many children have heard of Christmas but have no idea about the reason for the season, you can celebrate the true meaning of Christmas by hosting a Christmas Party Club® for children near you. These clubs prove to be one of the most effective ways to introduce the Gospel to children—sharing the true meaning of Christmas through Jesus’ birth and the reason He came to earth: to save them!
