‘These platforms equip families to instill God’s Word in their children so they can apply it to everyday life,’ says CEF Acting Vice President of Administration Fred Pry
ST. LOUIS — Parents often wonder if there is any redemptive online programming for children today amid a blizzard of questionable if not toxic offerings on social media and other places on the internet.
“The answer is a resounding ‘yes,’” says Child Evangelism Fellowship Acting Vice President of Administration Fred Pry. “CEF digital ministries U-Nite TV and U-Nite Radio deliver wholesome, entertaining content, with fresh programming released year-round. These platforms equip families to instill God’s Word in their children so they can apply it to everyday life.”
Children should be shielded from negative and dangerous content, but some carefully selected online experiences can be very positive — such as the free digital content available from CEF.
A Canadian study, “Digital media: Promoting healthy screen use in school-aged children and adolescents,” reports that “online programs that are age-appropriate, co-viewed with family, and watched with purpose and limits, can be immersive, informative, screen experiences.”
Further, the researchers said, “Screen media can improve children’s academic performance, enrich knowledge and literacy skills, and help develop positive relationships with teachers and peers. Screen-based programs and approaches can encourage both autonomous and collaborative learning, and stimulate inquiry.”
Similarly, the Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh notes that early introduction to technology can “promote learning and development when used intentionally and within the framework of developmentally appropriate practice.”
“Christian parents know that ‘raising up a child’ means not just helping them learn academically but also providing an understanding of Biblical truths from the time they are very young,” Pry said. “CEF online platforms do just that.”
U-Nite TV is a safe space for children of all ages to enjoy exciting shows, heartwarming stories and engaging content that teaches Biblical truths and how to apply them in life.
