CEF® is a Bible-centered, interdenominational, worldwide organization, composed of born-again believers whose purpose and mission are to evangelize boys and girls with the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ, disciple them in the Word of God, and establish them in a Bible-believing church for Christian living.

General Responsibilities

The ministry coordinator collaborates with the local director of the Central Florida Chapter of CEF Florida Inc. to ensure thriving ministry programs in Central Florida through the Gospel of Jesus Christ. A ministry coordinator’s primary responsibilities are to plan, execute, and supervise the direct ministry to children through the various programs that Child Evangelism Fellowship® offers. The primary ministries offered through CEF® are Good News Club®, 5-Day Club®, and Christmas Party Club™.

Ministry

  • Understand that the foundation of CEF is prayer and lead by example in being committed to participating and working toward the growth of an effective local prayer program.
  • Assist the local director in establishing and maintaining church partnerships that will fulfill the purpose of CEF®: evangelize, disciple, and establish the next generation to God and His church.
  • Be willing to participate in direct ministry with children, including teaching in various CEF ministries to maintain an understanding of today’s child and to adequately address the effectiveness of CEF
  • Be able to identify students (grades 9 – college) who may be potential CYIAers, personally participate in CYIA as assigned by state leadership, and help CYIA become/remain successful.
  • Serve as a liaison between CEF and the church.
  • Visit clubs to provide prayer, encouragement, counsel, and direction.

Administrative

  • Acts as key contact for Good News Clubs as assigned by director.
  • Ensure that all CEF policies and procedures are followed, and proper governance is maintained.
  • Keep accurate and complete records.
  • Working with office staff to ensure all volunteer applications, interviews and reference checks, Statements of Faith, and Child Protection paperwork are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Secure locations to conduct the various ministries of Child Evangelism Fellowship.
  • Work with schools, churches, and individuals to fulfill CEF ministry, completing necessary paperwork, scheduling clubs and other events, and working with volunteers.
  • Make sure all necessary materials are provided to club teams.
  • Communication skills to present information and processes in easy-to-understand ways via email, chat, phone and in-person conversations to people of all ages and backgrounds.
  • Communicate accurately about the current state of the ministry to the local director and local committee.
  • Attend all state-office-sponsored meetings as requested by the state director or board.

Leadership

  • Work with the local director in providing vision and strategic plans for evangelizing and discipling all children within the chapter, striving to establish them with local churches.
  • Meet regularly with and lead ministry staff and volunteers to provide encouragement, counsel, and direction.
  • Be a model of God’s ideal of servant leaders.
  • Work with the local committee in raising sufficient funds for the ministry.
  • Train, prepare, support, and lead volunteers as they carry out ministry.
  • Develop leadership skills in ministry staff, volunteers, and summer missionaries.
  • Plan and organize training for ministry volunteers.
  • Comfortable with decision-making  and conflict-resolution.

Qualifications

  • Be a born-again believer who feels called by God to the ministry of child evangelism.
  • Possess leadership qualities as found in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1.
  • Have a good knowledge of the Scripture, demonstrate spiritual growth, and be able to communicate God’s Word to others.
  • Have a demonstrated love for Jesus Christ and prayer, and an unquestionable passion to reach kids with the Gospel.
  • Love the local church and other Christian organizations and value them as ministry partners.
  • Have skills to identify other leaders, organize groups, cast vision, and evaluate the effectiveness of our programs.
  • Microsoft Office Proficiency in standard word processing, presentations, email, and spreadsheet software.
  • Possess strong teaching abilities.
  • Bilingual
