My Mom Can’t Find the Sinner’s Prayer in the Bible
-Wallace Grant
I believe your mother is referring to the prayer that is prayed when someone wants to receive Jesus as their Savior. It is not a prayer written in the Bible but it is based on Bible verses. It might sound something like this:
Dear God, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved” (Rom. 10:13). I have disobeyed your rules. “All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Rom. 3:23). I believed Jesus died for my sins on the cross… “Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures … was buried…was raised on the third day!” (1 Cor. 15:3-4).
And I receive him as my Savior. Forgive all my sins and give me a new, clean life. “To all who received Him,…he gave the right to become children of God” (John 1:12). “Wash me, and I will be whiter than snow” (Ps. 51:7b). Thank you for the gift of eternal life. “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16).
