Child Evangelism Fellowship of Pennsylvania, Inc., Centre Region Chapter is seeking a ministry-minded individual to fill their Ministry Coordinator position. The Ministry Coordinator performs the planning, execution, and supervision of 7 Good News Clubs® (GNCs) in two local area school districts (Penns Valley Area and Bald Eagle Area School Districts) as well as a weeklong summer day camp. This person should be able to plan and analyze, demonstrate organizational skills, and motivate people.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Ministry Coordinator is a staff member of the Centre Region Chapter of Child Evangelism Fellowship of Pennsylvania, Inc. The Ministry Coordinator’s primary responsibilities will be in assisting the Local Director in the development and administration of 7 local Good News Clubs and a weeklong summer day camp. They will also work together with the Local Director in promoting CEF programs to individuals, churches, community organizations, and school districts. There will be a minimum 90-day training period (exact length determined at the point of hire) to work with the exiting ministry coordinator and be trained on all the specific responsibilities listed below.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinate ongoing Good News Clubs (e.g., prepare facility permission requests of schools for hosting clubs, coordinate the GNC volunteer teams’ schedules, liaison with church sponsors of each club, develop permission forms for each club, distribute literature and teaching materials to each club’s team)
  • Strategize with the local director to recruit and establish new Good News Clubs at schools that do not already have a current outreach.
  • Along with the other ministry coordinator, assist in the recruitment of volunteers for the Good News Clubs and implement training events and schedules for volunteers to ensure proper preparation for their roles.
  • Be available to assist with teaching duties for new teams of volunteers as they start their clubs and substitute teach at existing Good News Clubs/5 Day Clubs as absences create those needs.
  • Update Local Director and Local Committee regularly on ministry status, concerns, and potential problems via keeping excellent documentation on all school-related and volunteer matters.
  • Be involved in both chapter and personal fundraising (assisting in the writing of the chapter newsletter, help establish connections with new and existing donors, and participation in fundraising events throughout the year).
  • Support ministry activities through teamwork, taking the initiative on tasks, and maintaining a positive, professional attitude.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Local Director.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Be a mature Christian with a demonstrated love of Jesus Christ and be in good standing with a church.
  • Confident about calling to minister to and ability to teach children.
  • Willing to abide by the purpose and policies of CEF.
  • Strong and effective communication skills including the ability to relate well with others and active listening skills.
  • Be a continual learner, strategist, and demonstrate an understanding of how to lead and build a team that is diverse in skills, experience, and culture.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), Google Apps (Drive, Docs, Sheets), and Zoom.
