General Responsibilities
Responsible for research, analysis, gathering documentation, and compliance of financial policies related to International Ministries accounts and projects to enable the international field and headquarters to more effectively reach Every Child, Every Nation, Every Day.
Provides timely and clear communication specific to International Ministries in support of the field. Gives administrative support to the IM Department by gathering, preparing, maintaining, organizing, and updating information. Assists in the promotion and helps facilitate prayer support for the CEF ministry worldwide and at International Headquarters.
Realizes the importance of the CEF Culture Points and commits to upholding them personally and in the ministry of CEF (the importance of Godly leadership at every level, of the spiritual welfare of our workers, of prayer as our foundation, of evangelizing children, of a clear and Biblical presentation of the Gospel and of a commitment to excellence, for the glory of God).
Specific Responsibilities
- Ensures correct and complete processing of all Capital Asset, Building, and Real Estate projects from the time of submission through completion of the project and eventual disposal, properly managing the asset database and supplementary information as outlined in IM procedures, and collecting/filing necessary approvals for CAR and building forms.
- Reports on active projects and needs to IM Leadership and communicates relevant needs to the Global Partnership Ministry.
- Ensures international field accounts for the eight regions, nations, national missionaries, and US-sent missionaries follow IM policies and procedures regarding set-up, deactivation, and pay outs.
- Manages assigned IMFin folder – ensuring emails are addressed within a reasonable period. Also manages incoming communications ([email protected] and voicemails) keeping in mind security issues and current situations – passing them to the appropriate person as needed.
- Leads research and audit projects identified as necessary by the Finance Manager
- Assists Payment Specialist in key tasks such as preparing annual US sent missionary budget updates for review/implementation, maintaining/updating the records for national missionary budgets, entering payment vouchers (PV) & account memo transfers (AMT) into the accounting system, and preparing/distributing quarterly US-sent missionary account forecast reports.
- Updates IM contact information and distributes as needed.
- Tracks and monitors newsletter submissions from the international field and ensures that RDs, NDs, and SPAN workers submit their newsletters in a timely manner and if necessary support the field in providing templates and other guidance to ensure that newsletters are of the best quality. Upload approved content to the appropriate sites/folders.
- Assists in processing, organizing, and updating SPAN missionary online applications as needed including translation of online applications from other languages to English using prescribed translation tools.
- Assists with Powered by Prayer coordination duties including interaction with field staff and IHQ as necessary.
- Assists and supports other IM team members as needed.
The ideal candidate would
- Have 1 year experience in finance/accounting/analysis/project management or bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
- Have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and moderate to advanced Excel skills (mail merge, tables, vlookup, indirect, & basic macro)
- Be very detail oriented
- Have good communications kills
- Be team oriented
- Experience or have a desire to gain a working understanding of various international differences regarding finances
