ST. LOUIS — While children gather at the White House and around the nation this weekend to celebrate Easter with eggs and bunnies, Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF) is taking the opportunity to share the true story of Easter.

In a small town in Oregon, a widow has invited children to her apartment complex every Easter for the last 15 years to hear the story of Jesus’ death and resurrection.

In a community center in Nashville, children have been invited to have an Easter party with games and activities even as they sing songs and learn the Easter story.

And in a living room in Florida, a child will watch a newly produced CEF short children’s video about what came after Jesus’ death on the cross.

“All of these are a result of the CEF team working to reach children with the Gospel. CEF equips churches and parents across the globe to bring eternal meaning to a special holiday,” says Fred Pry, Acting Vice President of Child Evangelism Fellowship.

“This is just part of CEF’s global ministry, which reaches millions of children every year.”

CEF provides Easter Party Club Lessons and kits for families and churches to host an Easter party in their home, backyard, or at their church and tools to help tell the story of Jesus’ death and resurrection — on a child’s level.

In a resource from CEF, people can learn how to share “The 3 Best Easter Gifts God Gave Us (And How to Share Them with Your Kids).”

From Wisconsin: Testimony about an Easter Party

“At our church, we were joined in person by 18 students, seven of whom were new, writes Maribeth Oezer of CEF of Wisconsin about a past Easter party. “We had so much fun together, playing games, singing songs, and learning about Jesus’ resurrection!

“But the best moment of the day came when 6-year-old Jack met with me in the hallway for counseling and told me that he had believed in Jesus as his Savior!

“When asked why Jesus died, Jack answered, ‘To save us from our sin. If he saved Himself, He couldn’t save us!’

“He truly seemed to understand the Gospel he has been hearing all year at Good News Club® and to be ready to put his trust in Christ.”

“Easter brings us the best news of all — that Jesus came, died, and was resurrected so that all who believe will have eternal life,” Pry says. “Bringing that message to children through CEF at Easter and all year long is a truly lifesaving mission.”
